Event Info


The 2018 NT City2Surf will be on Sunday June 3

There are 3 events to choose from;

Territory Health Fund 12km City2Surf  

Starts on the Darwin Esplanade outside the Double Tree by Hilton. The Course travels out of the city, through The Gardens, up to Darwin High School, through Parap, onto Dick Ward Drive.  Runners then turn left onto Progress Drive to run along the waterfront and finish at the Nightcliff Pool.

Sonic HealthPLUS 4km Mini Surfer

Starts and finishes at the Nighcliff Pool.

Race Kit Pickup

Will be from the DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin at the following times;

  • Friday 31 May  - 12noon - 5:30pm
  • Saturday 1 June - 10am - 4pm

Bus Information

Buses will depart from the Nightcliff Pool to the Darwin Esplanade (12km start) at the following times on race day;

5:50am (BUS 1)
6:05am (BUS 2)
6:20am (BUS 3)
8:15am (BUS 1)
8:40am (BUS 2)
9:00am (BUS 3)
9:20am (BUS 1)
9:40am (BUS 2)
10:00am (BUS 3)

From Darwin Esplanade to Nightcliff Pool
6:10am (BUS 1)
6:30am (BUS 2) 

Each way journey is $5 if you pre-paid and you can purchase a ticket on the day.  There will be no physical tickets, your name will be on a list.


Parking is going to be tight at both the 12km start and Nightcliff pool.  We recommend either using the distance you park from the start line as your warm up, or catching the shuttle buses.


6:30am – all late entries close

7:00am – 12km event begins

7:15am – 4km event begins

8:45am - 1.195km Marathon4Kids event begins

Race Day Checklist

The make your event experience smooth, don’t forget to pack the following before leaving home;

  • Race kit
  • Water bottle
  • Running shoes (be sure to wear any new ones in)
  • Comfortable running gear
  • Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen
  • A plan of where to park and where to meet your friends afterwards
  • Swimming gear for the pool party afterwards
  • Cash for food afterwards

Your Race Photos

Marathon Photos will be on course taking pro snaps of all runners.  So after your run, you’ll be able to check them out online and buy them.  Plus you can download a free certificate!


Territory Health Fund Drink Stations

Territory Health Fund will be providing all your hydration needs for the 2019 ConocoPhillips City2Surf.

12km drink stations are as follows:

  • Maria Liveris Drive – 2km mark
  • Cool Spot Fannie Bay – 4.5km mark
  • Dickward Drive and Fitzer Drive – 7km mark
  • Progress Drive meets Casuarina Drive – 10km
  • Finish line - 12km

4km drink stations are as follows:

  • Turn at Progress Drive and Casuarina Drive (same as 10km mark in the 12km) - 2km
  • Finish line – 4km


NIGHTCLIFF POOL: We’ve booked out the whole pool, so definitely want you to hang around post race and have a FREE SWIM in the Nightcliff Pool after your run or walk. Your body will thank you on Monday for having a little recovery dip post race!
